Freedom of Information bill receives third reading

by isleofman.com 27th January 2015
The next steps towards introducing a freedom of information bill in the Island have been taken in the House of Keys.
A proposed bill has received its third reading today (Tuesday).
Policy and Reform Minister Chris Robertshaw is steering it through the house and had previously told colleagues it would completely change the mindset and focus of government.
Government has agreed the FOI regime should start in 2016 with a pilot scheme in two departments.
The legislation will now go to the Legislative Council for consideration before royal assent is sought.
