High winds lead to cancellation of Heysham sailing

by isleofman.com 28th January 2015
This morning's (Wed) Steam Packet crossing to Heysham at 8.45am has been cancelled due to high winds in the Irish Sea.
It means of course there will be no return crossing this afternoon.
A decision on this evening's departure of the Ben my Chree will be made at 5pm.
There have been reports of snow falling on the Mountain Road this morning and gritters have been out overnight.
The forecast says conditions will turn colder today with the possibility of between 2 and 4 cms of hail or snow on higher ground but any accumulations on lower ground are likely to be temporary.
However, overnight and tomorrow the wintry showers could bring snow down to lower levels.
