Objections to assisted dying

A Christian campaigner and former law lecturer says the House of Keys shouldn’t even debate the possibility of an assisted dying law this week.

Rushen MHK Juan Watterson will ask for leave to introduce a private member’s bill on the subject tomorrow (Tuesday).

But Peter Murcott says a 400 year old UK law which still applies here in the Isle of Man forces the Queen to uphold “God’s word”.

He says that means no assisted suicide bill could even be given Royal Assent:Clip 1
