Warmer, sunnier and windier

by isleofman.com 2nd February 2015
The Met Office says January was warmer, windier and drier than long-term averages.

Last month was a third of a degree warmer than usual – with mean temperatures of 6.4°C – while the highest recorded temperature last month was 13.5°C, equalling a record set in 1998.

Officials at Ronaldsway also say there was just over a quarter less rainfall, while winds were around 20 per cent stronger than normal.

But they add January 2015 was a very sunny one – with 73 hours, compared to an average of 54 hours.
