Adventurous Experiences have launched their Junior Adventure Club, following on from the highly successful Indoor Kayaking courses at Western Swimming Pool, Peel. (October to March)
John Keggin from Adventurous Experiences spoke about the program:
“The Junior Kayak School (indoor kayaking) was launched last January, as 5 developmental stages and enjoyed immediate success. The Junior Club is the next natural progression for young adventurers. The coaching team has worked very hard, both designing and implementing our junior programs and we’re delighted with the exceptional feedback we are receiving.”
Using the established formula of the existing Adventure Club and the highly experienced coaching team, outdoor activities for junior members were delivered as week-long developmental courses, during last summer. All activities are delivered through key service areas of Safety, Fun and Learning.
Keirron Tastagh, Owner & Lead Coach, added:
“We are really excited with the launch of the Junior Adventure Club, it’s been on the cards for a while now! What makes us unique is understanding why we deliver the experiences we offer, and how we do it. Adventure sports can be so effective at changing perception and helping people understand and manage risk, as opposed to being risk averse.”
Junior adventures on land and sea take place Easter to September, including paddlesport training & trips, developing skills learnt in the pool. The Junior Adventure Club is offered to students who have completed stages 1 - 5 in the Junior Kayak School. (All places in the Indoor Pool are now full until mid-march.)
Summer outdoor courses are open to both Junior Adventure Club members and students in the Junior Kayak School. Key Outcomes, integrated into all aspects of training, are: water safety & awareness - water confidence - environmental understanding - teamwork - responsibility to self and others.
