More significant cuts for DoI

by isleofman.com 18th February 2015
The Department of Infrastructure is once again facing significant cuts.
It's been tasked with achieving a budget reduction of ?3.9 million for 2015/16.
A statement from the department says it aims to do this by cutting staff costs, making changes to service provision, increased use of technology and what it describes as inflationary increases of certain fees.
Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says this is not going to be easy, particularly on the back of significant reductions which have been made in the current financial year.
They are projected to end up being ?6 million, which is made up of ?4 million in cost savings and ?2 million in extra money brought in.
