Beach Buddies to have second attempt to tackle Castletown beach

by isleofman.com 26th February 2015

Beach Buddies is making another attempt to clean the beach in the middle section of Castletown Bay, close to the 9th green of Castletown Golf Links.

The session is planned for 10.30am on Sunday, March 1st.

The owners of the course have very kindly offered to allow us to use the path down to the beach, but please be aware that Sunday is a day when the golfers will be enjoying a game, so please be courteous and aware of players on the greens and tees.

As always, Beach Buddies will supply all the necessary equipment and remove the rubbish collected afterwards.

We are very grateful to the sponsors who make this possible. These include AFD Software, SITA, WDS Limited, the Department of Infrastructure, The Scott Trust, the Elizabeth Clucas Trust, the Society for the Preservation of the Manx Countryside, Blythe Financial, Aston International, Charlie’s Mum and Dad, Zero Waste Mann, Andy Kerruish, Lloyds Bank, Bobby Sadler Agricultural, Santander, Douglas Rotary, Cains, Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, Zurich and Juan Knight OffRoad.

A map showing the meeting point is shown. We will have vouchers for hot drinks at McDonalds for all volunteers.
