Man in Court for Newby's robbery

A man is to appear in Court this morning (28th January) charged with a robbery which took place at Newby's Store in Douglas on the 3rd November 2015.

As part of their investigations the Police released CCTV of the offender threatening the female shop assistant with a lit firecracker.  Our MTTV interview with Detective Sergeant Brian Shimmin featuring the footage can be viewed here.

The local 25 year old has also been charged with a further offence relating to a burglary at Billown Quarry which happened a number of years ago.

This latest announcement from the Police comes following confirmation that a man and woman were also being charged with relation to a separate robbery that took place at the Willaston Spar store.
