Douglas man bailed on assault charge

Jogger struck on neck

A Douglas man has pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm.

Twenty-eight-year-old Anthony James Graham Ford admitted assaulting Michael James Smethurst in the early hours of December 20th last year as the victim was jogging past him.

The court heard how CCTV footage shows Ford taking a sideways step into Mr Smethurst's path before striking him in the neck.

Ford has been granted police bail and the case has been adjourned until 2.30pm on March 10.
