New Self Catering Apartments open at Milntown

by isleofman.com 10th February 2016
As Spring approaches and we start to think about holidays what more perfect place could there be to spend them than at the Milntown Estate in Lezayre?

Set in 15 acres of woodland and formal gardens, Milntown is one of the most attractive places to stay on the Island especially as the estate has just opened three new self catering apartments.

Situated in a courtyard overlooking the magnificent gardens the new apartments have been fitted out to the highest standards.

Each one can sleep 4 individuals. Two have two double bedrooms and the third a double bedroom and bunk beds. The apartments, which will be available all year round, have private parking and can be booked and paid for online.

Guests in the accommodation will have access to the gardens during normal opening hours and will be able to take advantage of Milntown’s on-site cafe which is open daily (excluding Tuesdays) for morning coffee, lunch and afternoon teas. Milntown also has the advantage for motorsport visitors of being directly on the TT Course.

The Milntown Estate, once the home of the Christian family and more recently Sir Clive Edwards, is now held in trust for the benefit of the Manx people and visitors to the Isle of Man.

Speaking about the new development, Charles Guard, one of the Trustees said: “We are delighted that these high-quality apartments are now available for the 2016 season. Their completion is all part of the on-going scheme to make Milntown a unique destination on the Island. Our immediate plans for the future include refurbishing some of the rooms in the main house and the building of a new Victorian-style greenhouse and butterfly house which we hope will be completed later this year”.

For those not wanting to stay the night at Milntown there is still plenty to fill the day on the 15.5 acre estate. The gardens open for the season on Monday 8th February and House Tours will commence at Easter every Wednesday and Saturday afternoons at 2.30pm.

Entrance to the gardens costs ?3.50 per adult (?2.50 concessions, ?1 per child). Season tickets are available for ?14 per person.
