Tenders sought for addiction service

Plans for community treatment facility

Five months after government cut its funding to a drug and alcohol addiction charity, it’s inviting tenders for a community addiction treatment service.

The Treasury’s procurement services division says it would like to hear from organisations that could provide the service to the Department of Health and Social Care.

The Island’s Drug Advice and Service Helpline closed last November after the government announced it was halting its £100,000 a year funding for the service.

Those interested in bidding for the new contract have until Friday, February 26 to do so.
