Debate raised over phone mast plan

MHK queries Onchan installation

A phone mast proposal which is causing controversy will be raised in Tynwald next week.

Plans to erect the mast off Hillberry Road in Onchan have caused a mixed reaction, particularly as the local commissioners want to set up a picnic and family area on the site.

Manx Telecom says the structure would help 2G, 3G and 4G coverage in the Birch Hill and Governor's Hill areas.

MHK David Quirk who has tabled two questions on the subject, wants a detailed discussion about its potential impact:
