Defect rectification scheme begins

The way the police conduct vehicle checks is changing from today.

Police say the Vehicle Defect Rectification Scheme has been brought in to improve the condition of them over here, by giving officers more powers to ensure people comply with regulations.

Sergeant Steven Lapsley of the Roads Policing Unit explains how the new system works:
