Woman to face drugs charges

Arrested at Sea Terminal

A woman will appear in court this morning after police discovered a large amount of class A drugs earlier this week.

Officers carried out a joint operation with the Island’s Custom s & Excise division on Wednesday and arrested the 40 year old Merseyside woman as she arrived on the ferry from Heysham.

They say a number of packages containing what they believe to be drugs were found.

She has now been charged with producing and possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.
