Minor changes to bus vannin services will be introduced on Monday 7 March 2016.

A new Journey Planner & Timetables booklet is being published and will be available free of charge from the Welcome Centre in Douglas Sea Terminal and bus and rail stations in advance of its implementation. The new timetables can already be accessed online via www.bus.im. 

Kate Beecroft, Political Member responsible for Public Transport, commented: ‘The timetable is regularly reviewed in response to passenger feedback and for operational reasons. For instance, minor alterations to the southern services from 7 March result from passengers’ suggestions and following correspondence with Juan Watterson, MHK for Rushen, on behalf of his constituents. We are happy to have been able to improve the service in line with passengers’ wishes. Another improvement is a revision to the Sunday times of the service 3 between Douglas and Ramsey and an increased evening service on Sundays.’

The main service changes are detailed below.

• A total of 3,348,296 passengers journeys were taken on bus vannin services during 2015, Isle of Man Transport can reveal.

Implementing the new Ticketer system and introducing smart cards across all bus services has enabled accurate figures to be produced for the first time.

Mrs Beecroft commented: ‘We can’t benchmark these figures against previous years because they weren’t collected accurately before Ticketer was installed. However, we are happy to publish the number of journeys made on bus vannin services last year and we look forward to building on that in 2016 and future years.’

Key changes to the current timetable are:

Service 1, 1A, 2, 10A, 11, 12, 12A, X1
Replacement of morning and evening Service X1 journeys with normal scheduled services without fare or travel restrictions.
Enhanced evening service to Onchan and Willaston.
Enhanced Sunday evening service.
Renumbering of Service 1A journeys to 1H and Service 10A journeys to 2A.

Service 3/3A/X3
Minor changes to intermediate bus stop times.
Revision to Sunday journeys in both directions with increased evening service.

Service 5, 5C, 6, 6C, X5
Replacement of the morning and evening Service X5 journeys with normal scheduled services without fare or travel restrictions.
Minor changes to morning buses from Peel to Douglas.
Revision to Sunday evening journeys to reflect Monday to Saturday evenings.

Service 8
The 1625 Mondays to Saturdays journey from Peel to Castletown is retimed to 1635 and operates 10 minutes later throughout.

School Services
There are minor changes to a number of journeys to and from all schools on the Island and detailed timetables are available on our website.

Castle Rushen High School: The 1605 Service 64 terminates at Ballakillowey and does not serve Howe or Cregneash which are served by the Service 62.
