Inmate admits attack on guard

Said he'd do it again

An inmate at Jurby prison who tried to attack a guard with a home-made knife, will appear at the Court of General Gaol Delivery on Friday next week.

Christopher Kevin Mccluskey, 33, admitted a charge of affray when he appeared Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.

The court heard in September last year Mccluskey sought revenge on the guard, who he said hadn't allowed him to hug family members during a visit a few days earlier.

He spent two days making a knife out of plastic cutlery and razor blades, before hiding it in a book in his cell.

The court heard Mccluskey showed no remorse for the incident and had said he would do it again.
