Student Constables Take on the Isle of Man Coastline for charity

by isleofman.com 24th February 2016
The latest intake of Student Constables will be challenging themselves in an attempt to cycle on Static Bikes the distance of the Isle of Man coastline twice (320km in total) in a matter of hours inside the Strand Shopping Centre on Saturday 2nd April 2016 from 9am to raise money for the charity, ‘Give a Gift’.

‘Give a Gift’ is a charity dedicated to helping people suffering as a result of financial, physical, emotional or social hardship. To raise as much money as possible the officers are hoping to offer up an extensive range of raffle prizes (tickets will be sold in the lead up and on the day), with more details being released in the coming weeks of the event.

Speaking on behalf of the Student Constables, PC Emily Kaighen said, “Please come along and support your new officers and maybe even get involved yourself in order to enter a prize draw and challenge your friends. We would appreciate any support on the day for this great cause.“

Sergeant Paul Kemp of the Staff Development Centre said, “This group of officers certainly don’t go by halves when setting themselves a challenge! This is a really worthy charity that does a lot of work behind the scenes to try to alleviate the pressure for those who are going through a really bad time.”
