Special treat for Beach Buddies' volunteers

by isleofman.com 26th February 2016
There is a special treat in store for all Beach Buddies volunteers at its session at Spaldrick and Fleshwick tomorrow morning (Saturday).

Afterwards, the volunteers have been very kindly invited to go to the home of Jill Manning where she is providing home-made scones and hot drinks! Fantastic! Thanks Jill - this is really very much appreciated.  Jill is not able to join Beach Buddies on beach cleaning events, but wanted to make a contribution by providing the refreshments, so thanks to her for being so thoughtful.

The beach cleaning session begins at 10.30am, meeting at the roadside entrance to Bradda Glen, where the Beach Buddies’ truck and trailer will be parked.  The main priority is once again Spadrick beach, but, if there are sufficient numbers, they will also send a smaller group to Fleshwick.

All ages are welcome to join in, with the session ending no later than 12 noon, after which volunteers will immediately go to Jill’s house "Thie Vane" ( which means ‘White House' and it is! ). It is on Shore Road (the coast road from Port St Mary to Castletown) at the little junction to Colby, and opposite the Lodge House of Kentraugh. 838050 if you get lost.
