Chief inspector retires after more than 30 years' service

An ambition realised.

That’s how a Manxman has described his career in the police force.

Chief Inspector Phil Shimmin officially stepped down this week after 30 years with the Isle of Man Constabulary.

After dedicating three decades of his life to public life, he says many aspects of policing have changed dramatically during that time.
