Peel regeneration explained to traders

Drop-in event on Wednesday afternoon

Traders in Peel can find out how a major town centre regeneration scheme could affect them, at a drop-in event on Wednesday afternoon.

Funding of £1.1 million has been agreed for a makeover of Peel's Market Square and Douglas Street - with work due to begin later this month.

The refurbishment aims to create a pedestrian-friendly area where community events can be held.

Local retailers concerned about disruption can speak to officers from the Department of Infrastructure and the scheme's architect at the town hall between 2pm and 7pm. 

Peel MHK and regeneration committee chairman Ray Harmer says the event will answer queries about traffic management and the timing of different work phases:
