Hopes conservation network will build confidence

An MHK responsible for housing says a new approach to planning and conservation is required on the Island.

Chris Thomas spoke to Manx Radio in response to recent concerns over historic buildings such as the Nunnery and the Wool Centre in Douglas.

He says ongoing financial troubles and a leaner government have limited the planning process considerably.

But he's hopeful that the newly formed Building Conservation Network will open a dialogue between interested parties.
