February figures show more deflation

by isleofman.com 4th March 2016

Tenth month of CPI falls in row

Latest figures from the Manx Treasury show the Island's inflation rate is rising, but still in negative territory.

The Consumer Prices Index for February shows the rate standing at -0.7%, up from -1.2% last month.

It means prices are still falling despite the rate of inflation rising, and is the 10th consecutive month of CPI deflation.

The RPI currently stands at 3.3%, up from 2.6% in January.

The largest rise on the CPI was in private education, whilst the clothing category saw the biggest price drop.
