Peel sewage works 'desperately needed'

MUA says town should have plant by 2019

Peel MHK Ray Harmer says he's delighted it finally looks like the town will be getting a sewage treatment works in the not-too-distant future.

Funding for the preliminary design work was announced in the budget recently, while the Manx Utilities Authority has confirmed an environmental report and traffic assessment.

The MUA has also committed to completing the project by 2019.

Mr Harmer is hopeful the plan will satisfy everyone, given how much has gone into it and the pressing need for a treatment works in the town:
