Smoking ban case won't affect Island

Manx legislature made own decision, says minister

The Island’s home affairs minister says a landmark legal ruling over smoking in prison won’t affect the Isle of Man.

On Tuesday, the UK’s appeals court ruled the ban on smoking in public places doesn’t apply to institutions in England and Wales.

The Isle of Man led the way, banning smoking in jail in 2008.
