Bill goes through second reading

New laws which would see future Chief Ministers only elected by members of the House of Keys have moved a step closer.

The Council of Ministers (Amendment) Bill 2016 passed through a second reading on Tuesday.

Michael member Alfred Cannan is steering the legislation through the political process.

Eventually, it will go before the Legislative Council which currently is able to vote on the appointment of a Chief Minister.

So does Mr Cannan expect LegCo to vote through the change?
