Ramsey works out to be preferred location for new gym

by isleofman.com 14th March 2016

Ramsey Town Commissioners’ chairman Richard Radcliffe has welcomed the decision by husband and wife team Andrew Cubbon and Zoe Chestnut to set up their new business, Quay Fitness, in the town.

Mr Radcliffe was speaking after he visited the gym in West Street and met the couple just days after its opening. He said: ‘Andrew and Zoe have clearly made a significant investment in the building, which the Commissioners view as a resounding vote of confidence in the town and its economy. With general fitness and wellbeing very much on the agenda for local and central governments this is a welcome new venture for Ramsey, which will undoubtedly attract people from the outlying areas as well. The Commission fully supports this enterprise which complements the Commissioners’ efforts to encourage healthy lifestyles, by installing exercise equipment in Mooragh Park and facilitating walk and talk sessions there, for example. We wish Andrew, Zoe and their team every success.’

Andrew said: ‘Ramsey was always our preferred location to set up Quay Fitness and, already in these early days, we’ve had a really encouraging response with a good number of people through the door right from day one. The business also, quite literally, offers a new perspective on Ramsey, as members can enjoy panoramic views over the town and out to sea while working out with the cardio, weights and resistance equipment on the top floor!’

Zoe added: ‘Andrew and I are passionate about Ramsey; it’s where my family and I are from, and it’s a town with a genuine sense of community, so we’re delighted to have this opportunity to open our business here.’
