Health Department looks to cut drugs bill

Quayle agrees too many resources are wasted

Health Minister Howard Quayle says his department is looking at ways to cut its drugs bill.

 

In Tynwald this morning (Tues), he faced questions from North Douglas MHK John Houghton about wasted equipment and medication.

 

Mr Houghton said vast sums are being wasted in repeat prescriptions for elderly patients and unrecovered items such as wheelchairs.

 

Mr Quayle said he agreed, and his department was looking into the issue:
