Ronan wants red squirrel consultation

Minister says there would need to be changes to wildlife legislation

Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Richard Ronan is looking into the possibility of bringing red squirrels to the Isle of Man.

The species is endangered in Britain following the introduction of grey squirrels from North America in the 1870s.

There would have to be changes to current wildlife legislation if the move were to happen.

However, Mr Ronan believes it could bring about benefits:
