Landing stage could be relocated

Current landing stage needs replacing

The current landing stage used by the Steam Packet in Liverpool could be relocated as early as next year.

It’s been announced a new cruise liner terminal at Princes Dock would see the landing stage at Liverpool’s Pier Head moved to the north end of the facility at Waterloo Dock.

Peel Ports, run by Island Manx-based businessman John Whittaker, hopes to start work on a £5.5 billion Liverpool Waters project next year.

The landing stage, where Manannan docks in the city, has reached the end of its working life.

Last year, Steam Packet bosses claimed a £15m scheme to replace the landing stage would be scuppered without a deal to renew the user agreement.
