Ramsey Town Commissioners are holding a local authority elections drop-in day on Saturday March 19.
The session will run from 2 to 4pm at the town Hall when members and senior officers of Ramsey Town Commission will be on hand to provide information about the election process to members of the public and those considering standing as a candidate in the local authority elections on April 28.
The event is in support of the Isle of Man Government’s ‘Help to shape the Island’s future’ campaign. Ramsey Town Commissioners’ chairman Richard Radcliffe said: ‘The commissioners have arranged this drop-in day not only to offer guidance on election and voting procedures but also to encourage people to come forward and stand as a potential candidate. Local authority elections provide a unique opportunity for elected members to respond to the issues that matter to those they serve and make a very real difference to their community.
‘Modern democracy is all about exercising your right to vote. It’s the Commissioners’ fervent wish, therefore, that as many people registered to vote will exercise that right, not only on April 28 but also in the House of Keys elections on September 22.’
