Public meeting ahead of merger

If you’re thinking of running for office for the Island’s newest board of commissioners, there’s an event you won’t want to miss next week.

 

Garff Commissioners – to be formed by the merger of Laxey, Lonan and Maughold’s local authorities – is hosting an informal briefing session to let prospective candidates find out more about what’s involved.

 

The event takes place on Wednesday (March 23) at 7pm in Laxey Commissioners Offices on Main Road in the village.

 

Nominations close on Tuesday, April 5. Election day is Thursday, April 28.
