Event's unique character won't be spoilt

There are assurances a new TT promoter is not going to dramatically alter anything about the Island's two major road racing events.

Subject to Tynwald approval next month, Vision Nine will be awarded a ten-year contract, with its remit being to boost the TT and Festival of Motorcycling's profiles globally and increase the money they bring into the Island.

Vision Nine is due to start its work at TT 2017.

Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly says the events promoter, despite being off-Island, is looking to establish a presence here.

Meanwhile, David Cretney MLC, DED's member with responsibility for the visitor economy, including tourism and motorsport says there is no desire to do away with the TT's unique characteristics, and spectators will still be able to sit at their favourite spots:
