Passengers told vessel had problems

Five passengers were taken to hospital after fastcraft Manannan collided with the Victoria Pier last night (Wed).

The extent of their injuries isn't currently known.

The vessel was approaching the harbour when the collision occurred.

She was ultimately escorted into the harbour.

The captain had told passengers of technical difficulties early on in the journey, according to some of the passengers.

Following inspections overnight, it's been confirmed that this morning's 7.30am sailing to Liverpool has been cancelled with passengers being transferred to the 8.45am Heysham sailing on a first come, first served basis.
