Douglas lifeboat goes to the aid of lone fisherman

by isleofman.com 24th March 2016
Douglas RNLI lifeboat volunteer crew members were paged yesterday (23rd March) at 2.46pm to go to the rescue of a small fishing boat with a fouled propeller.

The RNLI all-weather lifeboat Sir William Hillary launched under the command of volunteer Coxswain Neal Corran to recover the casualty vessel. The lone crewman had been fishing in Douglas Bay when the boat's propeller had become entangled in marine debris rendering the boat immobile

The lifeboat took the fishing boat under tow back into Douglas harbour to a safe berth on the King Edward Pier before returning to the lifeboat station where the lifeboat was re-housed and made ready again for service by 3.30pm.
