MV Arrow back in Douglas tomorrow

The Steam Packet has confirmed there will disruptions to the busy Easter sailing schedule after the Manannan crashed into the pier last night (Wed)

Five passengers were taken to hospital with minor injuries and the vessel has suffered what Steam Packet Chief Executive Marc Woodward has called "serious but cosmetic" damage to its bow.

It's thought the accident was caused by a systems control failure, though this hasn't been confirmed.

The relief vessel, MV Arrow, is sailing back to the Island and is expected to arrive here around 6am tomorrow. However, there won't be enough passenger capacity over the Easter weekend for all those who were booked on the Liverpool sailings.

This woman lives close to the harbour and heard the vessel crash last night (Wed)

The Steam Packet's website currently shows all of the today's crossings by the Manannan have been cancelled. It's not currently known how long she will be out of action.

The Ben my Chree is due to go into dry dock in Merseyside on April 12 for three weeks for routine maintenance checks and upgrades to lounges.
