by isleofman.com 26th March 2016

Public inquiry starts in April

A review into how well Tynwald functions will get underway in earnest in the coming months, it’s been revealed.

Lord Lisvane’s review into the functions and efficacy of each branch of Tynwald and the scrutiny structure required by parliament was approved by Tynwald last year.

This week, West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas asked a question for written answer in the House of Keys about when his report is expected to be released when he’ll take evidence.

In reply, Chief Minister Allan Bell said a public inquiry would begin in April or May with a report expected in July.
