Charity outreach to potential carers

An open afternoon in Douglas (29th Mar) hopes to promote the virtues of foster care.

Island organisation Fostering First is hosting a drop-in session at Bourne House on Woodbourne Road, open to anyone keen to find out what's involved in caring for children in need of a loving home. 

Regular events are held to spread the message that almost anyone can foster a child regardless of their age or background.

The charity says it wants to dispel myths about who can adopt, the accommodation they are expced to provide and responsibilities.
