Cash call to start pier restoration work

Permission needed asap says trust head

Supporters of the Queen's Pier in Ramsey have started exploring ways of raising the cash needed to get work on the structure's restoration moving.

The man behind the Queen's Pier Restoration Trust, Tom Durrant, admits the strain on his own financial resources is currently proving testing.

A number of events are now being targeted to try and raise the money needed, to get things moving.

But Mr Durrant says it's vital government permission is given soon, during the months of good weather:
