Pier trust impatient for licence

Campaigners keen to start survey

Campaigners for the restoration of Queen's Pier in Ramsey say they can't understand why government has delayed granting a licence - allowing them to make a start.

Tom Durrant set-up a trust to fund the project - and has many people willing to raise money.

But the group needs an official licence to conduct a survey of the structure - and can't move forward until they have it.

Mr Durrant has written to the acting Attorney General, urging him to complete the paperwork.

In the meantime, he's putting his own cash into the project - but says that can't go on much longer:
