IoM Transport to confirm details

It's understood the Snaefell Mountain Railway tram car which derailed last week is to be restored.

A social media post by ManxElectricRailway.co.uk earlier today (Monday) says Isle of Man Transport has given the project the go-ahead.

Nobody was hurt in the incident near the summit last Wednesday, when Car No. 3 crashed after rolling down the tracks.

According to the report, enough of its structure and electrical systems survived the impact to be fully rebuilt.

Isle of Man Transport is yet to confirm full details.
