Police officers help pull man to safety

Emergency services are drying out after a sea rescue on Central Promenade in Douglas today (5 April).

Two police officers in dry suits and two coastguards came to the aid of a man in difficulty at around 9.30am.

He'd been carried around 100 yards out to sea - it's not clear at present why he was on the shoreline.

Paramedics treated him at the scene before taking him to Noble's hospital for assessment.

He was described as 'very cold, but okay'.
