Ashgrove Marketing, in association with Gallery Magazine, has officially launched the Ashgrove Creative Awards 2016. Designed to give aspiring creatives a platform to showcase their ideas and gain valuable feedback from industry experts, the awards are open to anybody over the age of 16 who does not currently work in marketing or design. The submission deadline is August 8.
Ashgrove Marketing are welcoming entries in Copywriting, Innovation, Multimedia, Photography, Design and Branding, and Online and Digital.
These categories correspond, not only to the work Ashgrove Marketing undertakes, but to the modern marketing industry as a whole. All of the categories are open to interpretation, and inspiration and format are both flexible. Submissions can range from start-up ideas, film, games and apps to radio ad scripts, online marketing campaigns, corporate brochures, or even photo manipulation.
The winner of each category will receive a ?250 prize, awarded to them at the Ashgrove Creative Awards ceremony on August 19 at the Ashgrove Marketing offices in Tromode. They will also have their work featured in Gallery Magazine. Additionally, two special prizes – the People’s Choice Award and the Ashgrove Award for Brilliance – will also be awarded. The winner of the People’s Choice Award will be voted for by Ashgrove Marketing’s social followers. The winner of the Ashgrove Award for Brilliance, chosen by Ashgrove Marketing’s team, will be offered a three-month internship at Ashgrove Marketing.
The overarching goal of the Ashgrove Creative Awards is to support local aspiring creatives by giving them an opportunity to publicly present ideas that otherwise would not see the light of day, and to gain an understanding of what it takes to work in marketing today. As such, each entrant is encouraged to visit the offices and meet with relevant members of the Ashgrove Marketing team in order to receive help and advice developing their ideas.
Speaking about the awards, Terry Van Rhyn, managing director at Ashgrove Marketing, said: “Marketing is one of the most viable and rewarding industries for creative people seeking to make a living from their talents. By steering local creatives toward applications within the marketing industry – and by recognising and rewarding the best ideas – Ashgrove hopes to inspire and develop local emerging talent and to offer each entrant a real insight into the world of contemporary marketing.”
