Last day for police at Lord Street

by isleofman.com 6th April 2016

Station due to close today

Officers based at Lord Street police station are moving up to police headquarters today.

The Central Neighbourhood Policing Team is relocating there, as the Isle of Man Constabulary attempts to further cut costs.

As of May 3, a reception desk will be operated there 9.15am to 2.45pm, Monday to Wednesday

The police say they are committed to maintaining a public counter in the town centre and longer-term options are currently being considered.

Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson says vacating the Lord Street site will also free it up for potential development.
