Untimely loss of Ramsey commissioner

by isleofman.com 8th April 2016

Election won't go ahead in North

Ramsey won’t go to the polls to elect commissioners this year – after a candidate died.

Sitting Ramsey Town Commissioner and candidate for Ramsey North Ward, Christopher Mayers, passed away earlier today.

It means there are now only six candidates for six seats in Ramsey North – the notice of election will be countermanded and the other candidates returned unopposed.

In a short statement, the commissioners paid tribute to Mr Mayers, who was elected in 2015 – the board has extended its deepest sympathies to his family.
