Govt departments under scrutiny

The Department of Health and Social Care has fallen foul of the Island’s Data Protection Supervisor for failing to comply with regulations.

Iain McDonald is due to lay his annual report for the past year before Tynwald later this month.

In it, he says some government departments – particularly the DHSC – isn’t giving people right of access to their personal data.

Mr McDonald says that’s unacceptable and he is prepared to prosecute if necessary in the future.
