Could you help entertain at Manx Blind Welfar Society Luncheon clubs?

by isleofman.com 11th April 2016
If you love to entertain or have an interesting story to tell, then you may be able to help Manx Blind Welfare Society.

The Society, which provides support and services to blind and visually impaired people across the Isle of Man, holds lunch clubs at its headquarters in Onchan every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and tries to provide entertainment between 2pm and 2.45pm.

Manx Blind Welfare Society Activities Officer Stacy Menton explained: ‘Visual impairment can be very isolating, so many of our members come along to Corrin Court to have lunch and an opportunity to socialise. It is always great fun, and we like to provide a diverse range of entertainment for our members, as well as quite a few staff and volunteers, to enjoy.

‘We have a fantastic group of entertainers with a variety of talents currently helping us out, but we’d love to hear from anyone else who would like to get involved. If you are a singer, piano player, storyteller, poetry reader, in an acoustic band or have another skill you’d like to share, please do get in touch.

‘Our members are always interested in talks too, whether they are about your hobbies, your travels, the old days, the Island’s wildlife or any topic. If you have a story to tell, our members would enjoy listening.’

If you’d like to find out more call Stacy on 674727 or email enquiries@mbws.org.im.
