Hospice has been touched by the fundraising efforts for its charity by local composer and pianist Anthony Cubbon.Anthony, from Castletown, has had personal connections with Hospice through the sad death of his wife, Marsha, aged 39 years old.
He has a successful career producing and marketing music and felt it was the right way of supporting the charity by doing what he knows best. He also feels strongly that music can help meditation and relaxation.
This beautiful CD is full of wonderful flowing piano melodies which were composed and produced by him. He has previously sold around 30,000 albums.
Anthony added:
"I haven't had any formal training in music, though feel it is in my blood as my family have long associations with music on the island".
"I often look to the Manx landscape for inspiration for my music and am a keen walker and naturalist."The Cubbon family of Castletown started the Castletown Silver band well over a hundred years ago.
This wonderful CD Free Spirit is available from Hospice, Shakti Man in Ramsey, Chree Brae in Castletown, Studio 42 in Port St Mary and Celtic Gold in Peel. Each CD is ?10 with all profits going to the charity less a minimum production cost.
Head of Income Generation, Mary Doyle said:
"I would like to thank Anthony for taking the time to pull this CD together. I have listened to the CD, it is beautiful and for him and his family to think about ways of helping us to help others by generating income is touching and very much appreciated."Anthony lives in Castletown with his 5 year old daughter Marczhela.
