by isleofman.com 12th April 2016

Join the Henry Bloom Noble Library team on Saturday April 23 at 7pm to celebrate World Book Night with local authors Rakie Keig, Michele McGrath, John Boyle and Michelle Tonnesen, with a guest appearance from the Manx Bard, Stacey Astill.

World Book Night is an annual celebration of reading and books that takes place on 23 April 23. This year the event falls on Shakespeare's birthday and the 400th anniversary of his death. To celebrate this literary landmark the panel of local authors will be discussing their own books and sharing the inspiration for their stories.

Thank go to Sure for sponsoring the event which will not only provide support to local authors but also serve as inspiration to those attending to embrace the pleasure of reading. Sarah Jarvis, marketing manager of Sure, said: 'Building on our regular support for the Manx Litfest, Sure is delighted to support this innovative event at the Henry Bloom Noble Library. Anything that fosters local talent – of which there is so much on the island – and which allows people to enjoy literature and poetry is a wonderful thing. We wish everyone well who is taking part in World Book Night and would encourage the public to come along, enjoy the evening and support local writers.’

Free tickets are available from the counter at the Henry Bloom Noble Library, Duke Street, or ring 696461 to reserve your place.
