Woman admits smuggling heroin

Sentence date over Sea Terminal seizure

A Liverpool woman who smuggled 83 grams of heroin to the Island will be sentenced next month.

Sharon Kirk, aged 40 from Norris Green was arrested at the Sea Terminal on February 17 after arriving on a sailing from Heysham.

A subsequent X-ray showed she had three packages concealed internally.

She has admitted possessing the drug which had a street value of between £6,000 and £7,000, with intent to supply, and producing the Class A substance.

Kirk has been remanded in custody while a social inquiry report is prepared and will be sentenced on May 20.
