Graphic guide to population trends

A new publication showing the Isle of Man’s population in graphs and maps is on the shelves of Island book stores this weekend. 

Paul Craine, a former senior civil servant, has compiled the Isle of Man Population Atlas using census data going back decades.

His book vividly highlights issues such as the Island’s ageing population, falling birthrate and emigration of young people.

Paul says another important trend is the turnover of people moving to and from the Isle of Man:
